Every meal she prepared felt like it belonged in a Michelin-starred restaurant. Galo is not only a fantastic captain but also an excellent host and even a great sous chef! He listened to our requests, planned amazing excursions, and made sure we had the best possible experience. On top of that, he keeps the boat in immaculate condition. Our recent sailing with AMAR in the Exuma Islands in the Bahamas, was nothing short of extraordinary. Captain Galo and his talented stewardess, chef and girlfriend Alessandra provided a level of service that exceeded all expectations. AMAR boasts an impressive resume, having navigated the Atlantic, Caribbean, and South Pacific Oceans. This experience was evident in their masterful handling of the vessel and their deep knowledge of the surrounding waters. We encountered breathtaking marine life, including sea turtles, rays, various types of sharks and beautiful coral reefs in shallow waters, all thanks to Captain Galo's expert guidance. Beyond the incredible sailing, Chef Alessandra truly outshone herself with a culinary masterpiece. Each meal was a symphony of flavors, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a focus on healthy, nutritious dishes. The salads and desserts were simply divine! What truly sets AMAR apart is the meticulous attention to detail and the genuine desire to create an unforgettable experience for their guests. Captain Galo and Alessandra consistently went above and beyond, anticipating our needs and ensuring our comfort and safety throughout the journey. An impeccable executed 7-day journey where we got to see the best of the Upper Exuma Islands, its unique bays, sandbars, white sandy beaches and even some breathtaking “rivers in the ocean”.
